This month’s Spotlight Interview is with our brilliant Account Executive – Amber Colley

How did your career in promotions start?

My career in promotions started not too long ago right here at Mando, and I could not have asked for a better group of people to learn from! I took a big leap completely changing careers to try something new and I haven’t regretted it for a single second.

What product did you last buy because of the promotion?

Cadburys chocolate fingers (although that isn’t unusual for me at the best of times)

What did you want to be when you were younger?

A vet or a zoo keeper, I still love animals but I am much too sensitive to deal with certain aspects of those careers, my lovely dog Dexter fills that spot for me now.

Where’s your favourite place that you’ve travelled?

The Philippines without a doubt. In the Philippines I really lived it to the fullest, swimming with Whale Sharks, island hopping and canyoneering. It’s a place I would recommend to anyone and everyone.

If you could do anyone else’s job in this company for a day, whose would you do?

I can’t decide between Mark and Loz, they’re very different but Mark’s job blows my mind so I would love to get stuck into it just for a day. I love being creative so taking over the job of Mando’s artistic genius (Loz) would be so fun!

What is your favourite ever promotion?

Maybe not my favourite ever but this one will always stick with me, when I was little I remember Chicago Town Pizza (the mini deep dish ones) did a promotion where you collected codes from a few packs and you could trade them for gimmicky merchandise. The item I remember was a pizza cutter, kind of like a big apple corer, that gave you 4 perfect slices.

What has been your biggest achievement outside of work?

Probably buying my first house at 20 with my lovely partner Adam and making it a home.

What do you think sets Mando apart?

This seems so cliché but I am being completely honest when I say the people. I have never worked or heard of anyone working somewhere where everyone is genuinely just so happy to be with each other everyday, and there is ALWAYS a social in the diary. It also feels like people are really grateful for the work each other do which can be hard to come by.

What song do you know all the words to?

Anything by One Direction!

What is your food heaven and food hell?

That’s tricky, my food heaven changes constantly but at the minute I would say chocolate covered raisins. My food hell is absolutely always prawns and that is a hill I will die on.

What has been the highlight of your past week?

Getting good news from the vet about Dexter (aka the Mando office dog) after holding my breath all week.
