This Spotlight is with the fab Archie McEvaddy!
How did your career in promotions start?
I studied Marketing at university and have always had a specific interest in consumer marketing and behavioural economics. After graduating I worked in employee engagement and incentives, which then led to sales promotions, and I’ve been in the industry since.
What’s your favourite part of your job?
I really enjoy seeing a promotion finally come to life after all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes. It’s a great feeling knowing you played a part in bringing it all together and then seeing customers engage with the promotion.

If you could manifest your future, where would you be in 20 years?
Spending the cold winter months on a sandy beach somewhere in Thailand drinking an ice-cold Chang.
Where’s your favourite place that you’ve travelled?
I’ve been to 35 countries (I think), so this is a tricky one. Siem Reap in Cambodia was an incredible trip. Cambodia is so unique and unlike anywhere I had visited before. I loved India, Thailand, Malaysia, Mexico, Dubai… anywhere that’s hot! I am a sucker for a Lanzarote trip for some winter sunshine every year.

What’s a fact about yourself that surprises people?
I’m from a big Irish family and have around 50 cousins, with family all round the world.
What is your food heaven and food hell?
Food heaven would be an Indian takeaway trying a spicy curry I’ve never heard of before, or a homemade Sunday roast dinner. Food hell would be anything with fish, don’t know why – but if it comes out the sea I don’t want it!

What’s your favourite life hack?
Go on SkyScanner and put in the destination as ‘Everywhere’, and you will be amazed at some of the bargains you can find after a bit of digging. I’ve flown to Lanzarote, Rhodes and Crete all for £10 return.
If you could master a new skill what would it be?
I’d love to speak a foreign language, but after studying French and Spanish at GCSE and recently spending months on Duolingo, I still can’t speak a word of either… but I can proudly order an una cerveza grande por favor.
What song do you know all the words to?
All 8 minutes and 42 seconds of American Pie. My cousin once unplugged the karaoke machine 5 minutes in and said she couldn’t take anymore. I have never sung it since.
What do you think sets Mando apart?
The team are fantastic. There is a real buzz in the office which is unrivalled, and I was made to feel part of it from day one. We are a very talented bunch and know how to deliver successful campaigns whilst having a good time.
