This month our spotlight interview is with our brilliant Account Director – Beccy Purvis
How did your career in promotions start?
I’ve worked in sales promotion and shopper agencies since I left university. It properly started at The Big Kick where we ran on pack promotions for Stella Artois and we worked with Mando to provide Fixed Fees.
What’s your favourite part of your job?
I love the early stages of planning a promotion. Especially if there’s a specific challenge we can help advise on.
What product did you last buy because of the promotion?
I bought a lot of Gogo Squeez smoothies a few months ago because the main prize was a trip to Port Lympne and I would have loved it more than my children if we’d won!
What did you want to be when you were younger?
I wanted to work in musical theatre.
Where’s your favourite place that you’ve travelled?
Thailand. I travelled with my friends in 2006 and again recently with 4 other families and it was just as incredible. It’s beautiful and there’s so much to see and do.
What is your favourite ever promotion?
I know I’ll sound really old saying this but it has to be Walkers giving away cash in packets of crisps. I can remember being at school and everyone cheering if someone found one. Instant Wins still are the best!
What have you recently learnt?
Don’t sweat the small stuff.
What do you think sets Mando apart?
The amount of data and insight we can provide to help create a successful promotion. It’s invaluable to our clients to be able to develop a promotional strategy based on how consumers genuinely respond to various metrics. And the Mando team, obviously!
What has been the highlight of your past week?
On Saturday mornings I watch my daughter take part her ballet lesson, then we watch my son have his swimming lesson and it is the highlight of my week every week seeing how much they enjoy it.
