This Spotlight Interview is with our fab Finance Assistant – Naela Shafiq

What do you think sets Mando apart?

Definitely the people. Especially in our office in Aylesbury, where I’m based, everyone is lovely and it’s a super friendly environment. It’s not like you’re actually coming to work most days!

What did you want to be when you were younger?

I actually wanted to be a teacher – couldn’t imagine it for one moment now, especially since being a mum haha.

If you could master a new skill what would it be?

I would love to be able to tailor my Asian outfits. They’re all so beautiful and have such craftmanship. To be able to tailor my own would be a huge achievement and blessing.

If you could manifest your future, where would you be in 20 years?

Retired living abroad. That is the dream!

Talking of abroad, where’s your favourite place that you’ve travelled?

That would be Turkey and Pakistan. I return with my family often and we all absolutely love it. This picture is from one of my favourite places in Turkey – you can never get bored of these beautiful views.

What is your food heaven and food hell?

Food heaven – I would say is chicken biryani. I cook it all the time but equally love eating it. Mostly when I’m not cooking it though!

Food hell – sausages, without hesitation.

What has been your biggest achievement/proud of outside of work?

My son, Ayaan! He makes me proud everyday.

What song do you know all the words to?

I think I could say with confidence that it’s most Bollywood songs. I love music so learning the lyrics is easy for me.

Do you have any apps on your phone you think more people should know about?

Tiktok – it’s not just for GenZ! I dabble and it’s great – especially if you want to learn new things.

What product did you last buy because of the promotion?

McDonalds. We love the McDonald’s Monopoly and Winning Sips promotion in this office – for obvious reasons!
